Strategic Healthcare Group receives veteran-owned status

Owner/CEO Tim Hannon MD served in Navy as flight surgeon

(Indianapolis, IN) August 2, 2011 -  Indianapolis-based Strategic Healthcare Group LLC has received a designation as a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB).

The designation is granted by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

SHG, a blood management consulting, education and informatics company established in 2006, is led by Timothy Hannon, MD MBA, its President, CEO and founder.

Hannon served on active duty in the Navy from 1987 to 1998, first as a combat decorated flight surgeon then as an anesthesiologist. Hannon is currently in the Navy Reserve and has attained the rank of Captain.

Upon his return to civilian life, he worked as a staff anesthesiologist and became the Medical Director of the Blood Management Program at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.  As an outgrowth of that involvement, Hannon eventually formed Strategic Healthcare Group, a fast-growing life sciences firm with a mission of transfusion safety and the appropriate use of blood in hospital settings.  SHG does business with hospitals across the United States, and Hannon is now considered one of the nation’s most knowledgeable and renowned blood management physicians.
